Barker Shoes recently participated in the annual Earls Barton Soap Box Derby which saw over 25 drivers hurtle through the village starting on West Street and crossing the finish line on Broad Street.
Competing alongside the likes of the Saxon Tavern, Scorpion Security and Ruby and Claret was the ‘Barkers Bullet’ made by several of our factory workers using recycled shoe materials and driven by Nathan Burrows made two valiant attempts with the fastest time of 37.05 seconds.
Congratulations to the 2019 winner 'Bluebird' by David Smith Associates who was crowned champion with a winning run of 33.98 seconds and all those involved for a thoroughly enjoyable race.
